ACA (7-9) went to the beach for spring break to play in the Gulf Coast Classic. The Eagles won their last game of four for the week as they defeated Calera, 9-1. The squad played a doubleheader on Monday in frigid weather with single games on Tuesday and Wednesday. Four players, Teilan Long, Ethan Dabney, David Johnson, and Beau Gainey, had hits in all four games. Long and Gainey led the team with seven hits each.
In the finale, Jake Hunt’s two-run triple in the bottom of the fourth jump started the offense. In the fifth, Bryson Dabney and Alex Heilman both had run scoring singles in a six-run frame. ACA tacked on a final run in the sixth for a 9-1 triumph. Mason Henry pitched all six innings for the win allowing just four hits while striking out seven. Teilan Long and Bryson Dabney both had two hits to lead the offense.
