ACA Softball Week in Review

Alabama Christian (8-19-1) played two important Area games this week and ended with a split as they beat Trinity on Thursday after a loss to St James on Tuesday. The win over the Wildcats should help the team’s confidence as they prepare for the Area tournament. The Eagles will play Trinity in the opener of the tournament.

ACA played St James close in the early innings and trailed by just one run going to the bottom of the fourth inning. The Trojan bats came alive at that point as the home team scored nine times over the final three innings for a 12-2 win. Ann Marie and Adalee Lincoln recorded the only two hits for the Eagles.

Last week, Trinity handled ACA easily and the Lady Eagles knew they had to make a statement in Thursday’s match up. Maddie Owens was solid in the circle as she allowed just four hits and one run in her five innings of work. Six Wildcat errors aided the offense as Alabama Christian won 11-1. Campbell Hammett drove in four runs with two hits to lead the offense. Elizabeth Hall and Anna Gleason both contributed two hits as well.
